Inspirational quote of the week

By Mike Aux-Tinee.

Live within your means, never be in debt, and by husbanding your money you can always lay it out well. But when you get in debt you become a slave. Therefore I say to you never involve yourself in debt, and become no man’s surety. If your friend is in distress, aid him if you have the means to spare. If he fails to be able to return it, it is only so much lost.
– Andrew Jackson

Why? I was asked.

Why don’t you own a house? I told them it was not for me.

Don’t you see all the benefits to be had? No I cannot.

So I asked, what are the benefits other than having a nice place to live?

Why should I risk losing, to live in fear of ruin?

They were shocked that I had asked that.

Well, they began to recite everything they were told. What they believed to be true and always will.

I asked, for them to write out all of their expenses, as I did mine. Their list was long and expensive, where mine was short and not as expensive.

Disbelief came across their face, as if I somehow left something out, trying to prove my point over theirs. Trying to cheat at playing the game.

I asked, do you know how you will pay for this if you lose your job? No they said.

What will you do if a rainy day comes along, are you prepared for it? They were left with the only answer and that was no.

Do you wake up in the middle of the night; worried, stressed and unable to fall back a sleep? Yes was their response.

Hum… I don’t and I let the silence finish my point.

Peace Dudes!
